WordPress Maintenance & Care Plans
Ongoing updates, backups, security checks, fixes, and support — so your WordPress site stays healthy, secure, and fast without you lifting a finger.

Works with your existing hosting or with HostingITrust Managed WordPress Hosting.
Why Your WordPress Site Needs Ongoing Care
Most WordPress sites don’t break all at once.
They get a little slower, a little less secure, and a little more fragile every time:
A plugin update is missed
A theme becomes outdated
A new vulnerability is discovered
A small error gets ignored
Then one day the site is hacked, the layout is broken, or important pages won’t load — usually at the worst possible moment.
Our WordPress Maintenance & Care Plans are designed to stop that slow decline.
We keep your WordPress site updated, backed up, monitored, and regularly checked — so problems are caught early or avoided altogether.

What Our Care Plans Actually Cover
We Take Care of the Boring (and Dangerous) Parts of WordPress
All of our Care Plans are centered around:
- Updates done for you – WordPress core, themes, and plugins
- Backups you can rely on – separate from hosting backups
- Security protection & scans – to reduce the risk of hacks
- Monitoring & basic performance checks – to catch issues early
- Real people you can email – when something looks wrong
You don’t have to log in every week to click “Update”.
You don’t have to worry if you have a clean backup.
You don’t have to guess what broke — that’s our job.
Our WordPress Maintenance & Care Plans (Care-Only or Care + Hosting)
Our Care Plans are designed to work even if you’re hosted elsewhere — so you can get professional WordPress upkeep without switching hosts. Prefer everything in one place? Choose a Care + Hosting bundle and we’ll host and maintain your site together.

Support & Response Expectations
To keep things clear and fair, we categorize requests by urgency (site down, security incidents, business-impacting issues, and general requests) and prioritize accordingly. Response targets vary by plan level, with faster handling on Business and Pro tiers.
For full details on response targets, what counts as a “small task,” and maintenance cadence, please see our Service Level Expectations page.
Core vs Essential vs Business vs Pro
You can get our Care Plans even if you’re hosted elsewhere. Here’s what each level really means:
1 – Core Care (minimum for hosting with us)
Only applies if you host with HostingITrust. It’s the minimum baseline to keep hosted WordPress sites stable — basic protection, monitoring, and safe core security updates, with short-retention backups. It’s not a full maintenance plan.
2 – Essential
Basic ongoing upkeep for smaller sites. It covers the essentials like updates, backups, and security checks — good if your site is mostly “set and forget” but you still want peace of mind.
3 – Business (most popular)
For websites that matter to your business. It’s more proactive, with more frequent maintenance and faster help if something breaks. If your website brings leads, enquiries, or credibility, Business is the sensible choice.
4 – Pro
For mission-critical WordPress sites (WooCommerce, membership, high-traffic). Higher frequency backups, tighter monitoring, and faster response make it the best choice when downtime or issues would directly cost you money.
If you’re unsure, start with Business — it’s the plan most clients end up choosing once they want a truly worry-free WordPress setup.
Not sure which plan fits your site?
Tell us a bit about your website, and we’ll recommend the plan that makes sense for how important it is to your business.

What’s Considered a “Small Task”?
What We Mean by “Small Content/Edit Requests”
Our Care Plans include a certain number of small tasks each month. These are light changes that typically take around 15–20 minutes each, such as:
- Updating text or images on a page
- Adding a blog post you’ve already written (with content you provide)
- Adding or updating a menu link
- Creating a simple new page using your existing layout
- Installing and configuring a straightforward plugin
What’s not included as a small task:
- Full page redesigns or custom design work
- Large new features or complex functionality
- Custom plugin development
- Full site rebranding or content strategy
We’ll always be clear with you if a request goes beyond “small task” and needs a mini-project or separate quote.
Works with Your Existing Hosting (or with Ours)
Stay on Your Current Host — Or Pair Care with Our Managed Hosting
You can use our Maintenance & Care Plans in two ways:
On your existing hosting
If your hosting environment is reasonably stable, we can layer our care plan on top of it — handling updates, backups, security scans, and fixes within WordPress.
Together with HostingITrust Managed WordPress Hosting
For the best experience, you can combine a Care Plan with our Managed WordPress Hosting.
That way, both your server and your WordPress site are looked after by the same team.
Backups & Security: Your Safety Net
WordPress maintenance isn’t just about clicking “update”. It’s about knowing that if something ever goes wrong — a bad update, a hack, a hosting issue — you have a clean backup and a clear recovery path.
That’s why every HostingITrust Care Plan includes automated offsite backups and proactive security checks, not just whatever your hosting company happens to provide.
Automated Offsite Backups
We don’t rely only on your web host’s built-in backups.
Your site is backed up on a separate, professional-grade backup system that we control and monitor.
For every site on a Care Plan, we:
- Run automatic scheduled backups (daily or more often on higher plans)
- Store backups offsite, away from your main hosting server
- Keep multiple restore points, so we can roll back further if needed
- Perform test restores during onboarding or periodically, to make sure backups are actually usable
Typical retention by plan:
- Essential Care – daily backups, around 30 days of history
- Business Care – daily backups, around 60 days of history
- Pro Care – more frequent backups (1–2× per day), around 90 days of history
- Agency & Multi-Site – daily backups for each site, with at least 30 days of history
(These are our standard targets; we can adjust for special cases if your site has unique requirements.)
If the worst happens, we’re not scrambling to “see if your host has anything”. We already have clean restore points ready.
Security Monitoring & Protection
Alongside backups, we layer in security checks and hardening, so your site is less likely to be compromised in the first place.
Depending on your plan level, this typically includes:
- Regular security scans for malware and known vulnerabilities
- Login and brute-force protection using best-practice configurations
- Review of suspicious changes or warnings from security tools
- Post-incident cleanup and restore support if something does slip through
- Recommendations on security best practices (passwords, users, plugins, etc.)
On higher-tier plans (like Pro and selected agency setups), we keep an even closer eye with more frequent scans, log checks, and faster response to incidents.
When Something Goes Wrong
If we detect a serious issue — like a hack, a broken update, or corrupted files — we:
- Investigate what happened.
- Use the most recent clean backup (or earlier restore point) if needed.
- Clean up and harden your site to reduce the risk of it happening again.
- Let you know what we found and what we did.
You don’t have to figure out how to restore a backup or decode security alerts.
That’s what you have us for.
How Our Maintenance & Care Plans Work
From “Worried About Updates” to “It’s Taken Care Of”
Tell Us About Your Site
You fill out a short questionnaire about your website: URL, current host, how you use it (blog, business, store), and how important it is to your daily operations.
We Recommend a Plan
We look at your site’s size, complexity, and risk profile, then recommend the plan that makes sense — Essential, Business, Pro, or a Multi-Site setup.
Onboarding & First Cleanup
We set up backups, security scans, monitoring, and a clean update baseline. If there are obvious urgent issues (e.g., very outdated plugins), we’ll discuss them with you and handle them as part of onboarding where feasible.
Ongoing Care & Monthly Rhythm
From there, we follow the schedule for your plan (updates, backups, scans, tasks) and you always know you can reach out when something looks off.

WordPress Maintenance & Care Plans – FAQs
Can I sign up for a Care Plan if I’m not hosting with HostingITrust?
Yes. As long as your hosting is reasonably stable and gives us the access we need, we can manage your WordPress maintenance on top of it. If we think your host is causing recurring problems, we’ll let you know and suggest options.
How often do you run updates?
That depends on your plan. Essential Care includes monthly updates, Business Care weekly, and Pro Care more frequently (with staging where needed). We prefer regular, controlled updates over “set and forget” bulk updates that can break your site.
What if an update breaks something?
This is exactly why you have a Care Plan. If an update causes issues, we investigate and attempt to fix it — rolling back, replacing a plugin, or finding a workaround where possible.
Are major redesigns or new features included in these plans?
No. Care Plans focus on maintenance, stability, and small content changes. Large design or development work is quoted separately. We’ll always tell you when something falls into that category.
Can I change or cancel my plan later?
Yes. You can move up or down a plan as your site grows or your needs change. Care Plans are typically billed monthly or yearly, without long-term lock-in.
Do you send reports?
For Business, Pro, and Agency plans we can send a periodic summary (e.g., monthly) showing updates performed, security checks, backups, and any notable actions taken. This is especially useful for agencies and business owners who want visibility without logging into WordPress.
Keep Your WordPress Site Healthy
Ready to Stop Worrying About WordPress Updates and Security?
If your WordPress site matters to your business, treating it as a “set it and forget it” project is risky. Our Maintenance & Care Plans keep your site updated, backed up, secure, and supported — so you can focus on running your business instead of fighting with plugins.
No long-term contracts. Just reliable, ongoing care for your WordPress site.
